1860s Bull Dog Bronze Study by Alphonse Giroux with Hidden Compartment

$2,000.00

This is a wonderfully executed mid to late 19th Century Alphonse Giroux Bronze Study of a Chained Bulldog Determined To Free Himself with an Unusual Removable Head Detail in very good age appropriate condition showing remnants of original cold painted finish.  He measures approximately 14cm long by 7cm tall or 5 1/2” by 2 3/4” and has a total weight of 13 ounces.  The intention behind his head being removable is a mystery, although doing so creates an inconspicuous hollow torso hiding place for small objects of importance.
